Hunter's
world is not unlike those of other autistic individuals. His family and caregivers repeat ideas, words, actions,
and concepts to him to help him to learn and to understand his world around him. Because a change in routine can be traumatic
for any autistic person, Hunter's mother, Amy, developed "Riding in the Spaceship, Hunter's book about HBOT"
in order to familiarize him with a new routine--going to the Lombard Hyperbaric Center for therapy. She showed it to
him repeatedly at the beginning of therapy to help him become comfortable in the new routine. Hunter did
great! Amy graciously allowed us to post his book for other families and caregivers, as a template to help them introduce
new concepts and ideas to their autistic children. Click on the pictures to turn the page.
